Heed the Call!

Heed the Call!
Following personal passions developed through lifelong friendships and a commitment to the details is the recipe for a brand vision with deep authenticity. Howler Brothers have all of these characters in spades and the chops to execute stand out garments that attract the hard to catch modern outdoorsman.
Back in the early 2000’s Chase Heard was freelance designing t-shirt graphics as a side gig from his architect job, which wound up rejected. Instead of bailing, he went on to develop a lifestyle brand with his lifelong friend and bandmate Andy Stepanian. The duo wanted to design for an audience they knew was lacking an outlet; together, they created Howler Brothers. Using those initial T designs as a springboard into technical gear that could be worn in the river fishing or ocean surfing waves all day, then transition straight to dinner. By marrying together surf, fly fishing, live music, vintage vibes, and explorer culture, the co-founders filled a gap gaining committed fans for their functionally crafted garments—Austin vibes playing a central role.
When we had the chance to take a visit to Howler’s HQ and store, we were excited to see all of these elements come together, and we were not disappointed. Just like their garments, each aspect of the store feels thought out, intentional, and part of the overarching brand vision. The interior feels as though it was plucked from the Baja coast and magically placed in the hip land-locked Austin neighborhood Clarksville. The interior amplifies all the things that drew us to Howler Brother’s, killer fonts, technical fabrics in vintage print and patterns, collectible patches, an array of graphic T’s, and CRAFT BEER!!! What else does a guy need?
